Ms. Mariella Guillén moved to Florida in February 2016. She holds both her Bachelor and Master of Music in Piano Performance from the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts. She obtained her teaching certification from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with a general music focus gr. K-9.
Ms. Guillén taught general music for the Milwaukee Public Schools for 15 years. During her tenure at MPS she taught singing, instrument playing (mallet instruments, recorder, piano), movement and improvisation to kindergarten-fifth grade students. She worked closely with local professional music groups to bring opera, symphonic music and ballet to her students. Ms. Guillén was a frequent presenter at the Wisconsin State Music Conference in Madison, WI and has written articles for the Wisconsin School Musician magazine. She was also active in the local American Orff Schulwerk Association (Greater Milwaukee Orff Dimensions), holding levels I and II certification.
Ms. Guillén worked with the Latino Arts String Program in Milwaukee. She held roles as an accompanist and coach.
